Music Composition? Yeah, Right. No, Really!
Oh so many years ago, I knew the basics of piano music. I can still read it - kinda. But I have long forgotten all the technical terms and symbols. Enter the computer. Over Thanksgiving, I was introduced to this dandy piece of software called Noteworthy Composer. (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/) You input the notes and it plays back. Nifty! Let's write something, but where do I start? Start with something familiar...
Growing up in a house filled with clocks, I wondered if I could duplicate the music from the cuckoo. It plays two different tunes: Edelweiss and, uh, some other song. With a little help from some expert musicians, I managed to end up with this.
Hmmm...I'm pretty proud of myself. I asked Santa to bring me software for Christmas. I guess I was a good girl, and my wish was granted.
I am learning, or rather re-learning, the technical side of music. I am replaying songs that I used to enjoy and realizing what makes something fun to play and hear. Some day I may have enough to compile a CD and rocket myself to fame. So with much fanfare and without further ado, I present to you the following 10 minutes. Bon appetito!
